Lugano, Ticino, Svizzera
03/09/2022
Saturday morning we took the train into Lugano. After storing my luggage at a locker we exited the train station through a tunnel and arrived at a viewpoint above the city, granting us a first glance at the scenery.
We then walked downhill for me to discover the city and since Cristiano had formerly studied there, he knew the place and could showed me around. The city was full of people that Saturday morning and reminded me of the liveliness of many Italian towns.
We made our way through the narrow alleys and towards the waterfront. Lago Lugano lay right in front of us. It was quite cloudy but very peaceful, and occasionally some rays of sun came through.
The waterfront was full of people, both tourists and locals, walking along the lake and into nearby shops and restaurants. We followed suit and took some pictures along the way.
As in all Swiss cities, there was a good share of beautiful sports cars to be spotted.
We continued our walk and came through the beautifully maintained Parco Ciani. I was told it is often used for weddings and imagining the scenery with better weather I could see why.
A little further we stopped in Parchetto Lanchetta next to the harbour Porto Lanchetta for some aerial shots of the lake and surrounding mountains before turning around and taking the train to Bellinzona.
A presto!
