Geneva Fever

Genève, Suisse

The third stop and final destination on this Sunday‘s trip was Geneva. A friend picked me up at the railway station and proceeded to give me a little tour of old-town Geneva. We walked past Archives d’État, a United Nations office and Cathédrale Saint-Pierre to get some Crêpes at “Crêperie du Bourg-de-Four“.

After some crêpes, beer & a wasp sting we continued exploring the city by walking downhill towards the waterfront. Note how the building style of french Switzerland is way different from that of Bern or Zurich.

As I learned then, the waterfront of Geneva (at Jardin Anglais) is apparently well-known for “L’Horloge Fleurie“, a flower clock that has different flowers depending on the time of the year. I took a quick snapshot for you guys but unlike everyone else I did not have my picture taken in front of it.

A few meters behind the clock is the actual waterfront where we witnessed another paddle steamer docking.

After a couple of photos we walked northbound to Bar Majo for a drink in the shade. It offered a nice round view of the city panorama and I additionally used my camera to look at Jardin Anglais from the other side.

Before heading back to Zurich I used the remainder of the time there to walk through the old town once more at my own pace and take some more pictures.

On the way back the train’s route was quite scenic so I quickly grabbed my camera to take some final goodbye shots of Lac Léman.

Au revoir!
