København, Danmark
08/04/2023
For our third day in Copenhagen we sought out to pick up our discovery of the city where we had left off the day before. We had breakfast at Next Door Cafe, near Sankt Peders Stræde, an alternative part of the city, and then continued to Rosenborg Slot, this time with significantly nicer and sunnier weather, which made the exploration all the more enjoyable.
There, we walked around the park and took numerous pictures, indulging in the scenery of Kongens Have, the palace garden. We also had some snacks before moving on.
Upon exiting the park, we saw posters for the wildlife photographer of the year at Statens Naturhistoriske Museum, the national history museum which was right next door. As I am a bit fan of photography, it struck me as quite interesting. We thus decided to visit it.
We walked around the exhibition and saw countless fascinating photographs (not included here for copyright reasons). Moreover, we learned that our ticket included single-entry to Palmehuset in Botanisk Have, the botanical garden, which we really wanted to visit. So we made our way there from the museum.
As we would soon realise, however, Denmark has some really restrictive opening hours for most of its museums and exhibitions. Namely, we were informed that at 15:30 sharp (!), the place would close down for the day. Since we didn’t expect to come back the next day, we entered regardless and took some nice pictures of the plants. However, we were too late to check out the butterfly house. Maybe another time.
After exiting the location we sat down next to the fountain (Broen i Botanisk Have) to have some coffee (chai latte, respectively) and watch the area.
We spent some time there before continuing to Scurry Hub, where we had dinner. It is a simple Thai restaurant that for once was not incredibly expensive. Nasti and I then walked through the city centre once more before returning to the hotel in order to get some sleep, as we were planning to rise early for a little daytrip the next day.
