Arriving in Prague

16/03/2023

On the way from Berlin to Vienna, I had planned for a short stay in Prague to see some friends from my time studying there last year.

We got there through a daytime ride along the Elbe River, featuring some nice nature sceneries.

After arriving and bringing our luggage to the hotel, we made our way to have dinner at La Bottega Linka, an Italian restaurant near the city centre.

I then met a friend and we headed to Bugsy’s Bar for some drinks and another friend joined in. We had some good chats and caught up on how things were going before I returned home to the hotel.

Brunch and departure

The next morning I met with my friend Lisa for brunch at Sweet & Pepper Days bistro. The delicious food made me appreciate the variety of great brunch places in Prague and reminisce about my brunch memories from Sydney, Australia many years back. Along with Vienna, all three cities feature nicely decorated cafés for brunch and wide varieties of delicious foods.

As my mum had not had breakfast, I subsequently went to meet her at Venue, one of Prague’s most highly rated brunch places. Naturally, I did not want to miss the opportunity, so I ordered pancakes as a desert to the egg and hash brown I had eaten before.

With our stomachs full and us ready to depart, we got our belongings from the hotel and took an Uber to the train station, where our train to Vienna left shortly after. As it was a RegioJet, we enjoyed a complimentary glass of Prosecco and nice comfortable leather seats while indulging in the beauty of the scenery.

A few hours later, we entered Vienna by crossing the Danube river to the slowly setting sun.

Nashledanou a na viděnou příště!
