Paris, France

The next morning we checked out of the hotel and went to meet a friend of Nasti for breakfast. We had to wait a little while since every brunch spot was fully booked, but after a bit we got a nice seat and some even nicer food.

After eating we made our way to a gallery I wanted to visit. On our way there we came by an old building of Archives Nationales, the national archives, and decided to take a look into the yard. While the main building with the archived documents and items had moved a more outward of the city for lack of space, this French villa impressed with its beautiful architecture.

After spending some time taking pictures and exploring the adjacent garden, we continued to Fondation Azzedine Alaia. The gallery featured fashion by iconic fashion designer Azzedine Alaia, which was something we did not want to miss when in Paris.

The garments on display were accompanied by high quality prints of models that wore them and the creativity & ingenuity of these magnificent outfits really became apparent.

We purchased a set of postcards and a coffee-table book and then made our way to the cathedral Notre-Dame de Paris, which due to the fire in 2019 was not open to visitors. Thus a quick look from the outside had to suffice before we strolled towards Bourse de Commerce, the old commodities exchange of Paris. On our way there we crossed the Seine river with another opportunity to marvel at the Eiffel Tower in the distance.

The Bourse de Commerce building turned exhibition space for modern art featured wonderfully impressive architecture and a bright atrium with a ceiling fresco illuminated by the sun.

After exiting we came past the backside of Palais du Louvre again and I took a quick shot of the bright sky above it. We then got our luggage from the hotel and got to the airport for our flight home.

Au revoir!
